We had a great time with Toby and Kellene shooting their engagement pictures at a private farm in Worden, Illinois! It was the perfect location since they both grew up in rural areas. To add a little challenge, it was super duper muddy, but that’s what boots are for! Speaking of boots… if you all could petition in support of Toby getting a new pair of boots for the wedding, he’d really appreciate it. They’re each wearing boots in the wedding, but Toby said he NEEDS some exotic boots like alligator or ostrich or something — so we’ll see if that happens or not!!! We heard he may just have to settle with what he has… 😉

During our shoot, we had the chance to meet Toby and Kellene’s adorable pups, Brandy and Miller! (We LOVE their names!) They were highly energetic and so excited to get their picture taken that they couldn’t sit still! But of course, the word “treat” always works wonders! ❤️

Toby and Kellene’s story started at a mutual friends’ wedding, where they were both in the bridal party and actually walked down the aisle together! What a perfect beginning! Trust us, they’re super sweet and they talk and laugh like they’ve been together forever! Through the first six months of their relationship they were long distance because Kellene lived up in Wisconsin. (BRRR!) Fun fact: we heard that Kellene’s family still jokes that Toby isn’t allowed back up north to visit because every time he visits it snowstorms! Way to go, Toby! 😂

Toby’s perfect proposal took place at Aerie’s Winery in Grafton, Illinois. They started out riding the gondola up the bluff with their parents. Although there were a few hiccups trying to get Kellene to focus her attention elsewhere so he could grab the ring, he randomly pointed and exclaimed “Hey, look at those trees!!” It got the job done and of course, she said yes! Make sure you grab a tissue before their wedding day at Far Oaks Country Club in Fairview Heights, Illinois. Their wedding date is special—it’s her grandparents’ anniversary! ❤️
