–F. Scott Fitzgerald
We often get asked if we get tired of shooting weddings and how it is that we don’t get tired of working together all of the time, or what our favorite part of a wedding day is.
Yes — It’s late nights, early mornings, little rest, missing out on social events and trips with family and friends due to lots of busy weekends on top of full time careers, and you can always plan on being sore and fatigued like you just ran a marathon. But…it’s so precious watching two souls come together as they intertwine two families, watching the love and laughter, and of course the drunken dancing is always amusing when it happens too. 😆 We love weddings, and we love creating relationships with those we meet. Plus, being so close to the bride and groom on their big day brings back feelings of our wedding day in 2015. And reminds us of the love we share. So no, we don’t get tired of weddings. We embrace them and feel blessed to be a part of something so grand and special. (And we usually cry! 😇)
Speaking of grand, Andrew and Zoe hosted a grand day at The Riverview Room in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. They kicked their celebrations off with a feet washing ceremony — totally special and something we’ve never photographed. This type of ceremony is a symbol of humbleness and willingness to serve one another, as that’s what Jesus did for his disciples. ♥️ It was so special being a part of this.
Among many reasons we love wedding days – being so intimately close to the bride and groom and their families throughout the day, as we’re typically there from hair and makeup in the AM, through the celebrations and dancing in the PM. AND it’s even more special to us when the bride’s family is close family friends of ours! Zoe and Chris’s families go way back, and some young whippersnappers might even say their mom’s, Kathy and Kim, are in the “BFF4E” territory (😂).
In all seriousness, Andrew and Zoe’s wedding day was beautiful and the scorching heat took it to the next level!! Andrew and Zoe, we are so very excited to see where God takes you both as your marriage grows together.
Love this! So proud of you both. Wedding was beautiful ❤️ I pray that you keep Jesus in the center of your lives
